My foray into natural skincare

My first crush on natural skincare came when adult acne hit me after a fairly unscathed stretch as a teenager (oh the irony!) I found the only thing that really helped to clear my skin was 100% natural mud soap, which I’ve used religiously for 7 years now. Then, when I got pregnant last year,Continue reading “My foray into natural skincare”

On the turning of the seasons; or letting go.

I watch the seasons as they dance onto centre-stage like clockwork, when their names are called. The factory produced goods bought by many popular high-street retailers, and the pressure for the promotion of fair treatment and workers’ rights has continued since then.Continue reading “WhoMadeMyClothes?”

My cousin called me a rabble-rouser and I’m sick of it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a compliment. But ugh. You see, Wee Frizz, when she called me that, was referring to the fact that she has become involved in the #makefashiontraffikfree campaign after a few chats/links we shared. And I’m so glad. I got teary-eyedContinue reading “Sick of ‘being ethical’. Whatever that means.”

Dying to be thin: Eating Disorder Awareness Week

It’s Eating Disorder Awareness Week this week. I’ve written about image/identity issues a fair bit on here, but there is nothing more powerful than story, and it’s an honour to be able to share two stories of overcoming eating disorders with you. The first comes from my courageous housemate, Emma, who has been battling anContinue reading “Dying to be thin: Eating Disorder Awareness Week”
