Capture NI || Causeway Coastal Route

Can you believe we’re almost halfway through August?!

We may still be waiting for summer to turn up here in Northern Ireland but this weekend, Dan and I decided to make the most of what we had and explore the Causeway Coastal Route. It’s no secret that the Causeway Coast is one of our favourites, so it was lovely to find some new places as we drove up ‘the scenic way’ (can you believe I’d never been to Glenariff?!). There are so many little hidden gems on the road – you could spend a whole weekend dipping your toes into the water, discovering old pubs and exploring the valleys.

We had a day and here’s what we got upto…

First up, a stop-off at Applegreen’s, the new service station/food court that has everyone (well, everyone who regularly uses that part of the motorway!) talking. They’ve done a great job at providing lots of choice and Dan says Lavazza’s flat white is the best he’s ever tasted!

What I love about the drive up is the mix of beaches, blue, waves and pebbles…

…and mountains, green, wind, and trees.

We finished our adventure day by watching the clouds over the Giant’s Causeway. The sunset was SPECTACULAR.

Have you discovered anywhere new this summer? I’d love to hear about it! Till then – enjoy the last few weeks of ‘summer’!
