So we’re about to head off on our big adventure involving 7 flights, 6 hotels, 4 countries and 2 houses! We can’t wait. I’ve told you what I’ll be listening to, and I’ll be writing about what I’ll be reading on Friday, but today I thought I’d tell you about some (local and not-so-local) goodies I’ll be packing.
First up, Freckle. Freckle (such a good word) is a Northern Irish paper magazine full of goodness: stories, recipes, tales of triumph and togetherness, stunning images. This edition is split into four themes – wild, welcoming, community and creating. It costs just £6 and a list of stockists is available here.
I’m also packing my Fujifim Instax camera. As much as I love digital images (especially Instagram – let’s connect!), I love the unique quality of a printed photo, sometimes kept as a sacred secret of a moment you don’t want to forget.
Next up is some skincare. Us Irish gals have to be careful in the sun, so as well as packing suncream and hair protectant I’m bringing this gorgeous locally produced chocolate orange lip balm. SCent’s motto is “clean hands, clean conscience” and I love that I can trust their products to be ethical. They’re also delicious and you can catch them at St George’s Market or on their website.
Next up is my current favourite statement necklace: during our first week in India, I’ll be wearing super practical clothes so I can move around with my camera, but I also want to have a little sparkle and this is perfect. From New Look.
Another go-to accessory are my HENNING Lines & Current sunglasses. These are such an easy and elegant style statement. I love their bamboo legs and the shape is very flattering on my heart-shaped face. Winner! Check out my interview with Belfast-based Rebekah here and have a nosy at her beautiful collection here.
Next up, a summer scent from Primark! This polka dot packaging is the perfect fun wrapping for a light, sweet, fruity fragrance with vanilla notes – my favourite. I love how scent can bring you back to places or times in the past, and so I like picking up a wee bottle to splash around before I go somewhere exciting.
I’m also packing my favourite sandals which I got last winter in the Topshop sale right before honeymoon. They are super comfortable and who doesn’t love a little sparkle on their feet?!
I’ll also be packing my sumptuous Eleni Skincare pots: these are perfect for travelling and I love how they make my skin feel. read my full review here and buy your own set here.
Next up, my Angel and Anchor tee. Now, I’m not traditionally a t-shirt girl…but this is a great fit with gorgeous fabric AND it’s designed by my friend Ben (who just rebranded my website!). You can buy your own here.
And finally, headphones. These are vital to me – planes, airports, long bus rides. Yep. I’ll be playing my Capture NI holiday from Matty who shared his favourite tracks from local NI musicians – find it here! That’s all for now, folks. Stay in touch with our travels here, and tune in on Friday for my Holiday Read – you don’t want to miss this!
