So, as you know, I’ve been nesting in our new house. I’m loving the fact that it’s our space to create a home with, and taking on little projects has been a lot of fun.
Last weekend, my pal Charlotte came over and taught our friend Alex and I the art of decoupage (Dan tried it out, too!)
It’s the easiest thing but I absolutely love the look it gives to pretty much any kind of object. And it is so very therapeutic – ripping up paper is very satisfying, and using scraps to make something beautiful is pretty special!
All you need is some scrap/wrapping/crepe paper (I had an old map I picked up in London a couple of years ago but no wall I wanted to put it up on!)
and some craft glue with a paint brush.
Our house has high ceilings and the furniture has a very strong look, so bold accessories are the way to go. I was on the look-out for a tall vase and picked this chipped burgundy vase up at a charity shop for £3.
Paint glue on your surface, and then paint on big or little pieces of paper all over it. Ta-da!
