Lads’ mag Nuts is to boycott the Cooperative’s new cover-up policy, stating they find the ultimatum ‘astonishing’ and preparing to accept a decline in sales as a result. The magazine will no longer be sold in the Cooperative’s 4,000 stores.
Zoo is expected to follow in the footsteps of its competition, having stated that they deemed its toned-down covers to be an adequate change.
The Cooperative, however, having made their decision last month based on feedback from customers and partners, said their stance had not changed. “If Nuts, or any of the other publications, Zoo, Loaded and Front, do not put their titles into modesty bags by the date we’ve given of 9 September, we will no longer sell the magazines.”
I recommend contacting the Cooperative to thank them for listening and for sticking to the decisions they have made.
