Pic somewhat unrelated but I loved this sunlit Nana-grandson moment. We celebrated my wonderful niece today (props to anyone who can spot her sparkly legs in this picture!) After becoming a mum, becoming an aunt to this little joy-bringer has been my favourite part of the last year. 🖤

Seriously. How talented is @macrame_and_me aka my sister?! This is her best yet. Early motherhood doesn’t need to mean a halt to creativity. Find what works for you. Making something - anything - just for fun can be the best therapy. 🖤

Oh, these sunny autumn days are my favourite! We picked up some gorgeous flowers this morning before going hunting for pinecones in the woods, and then headed home to make this delicious honey & black pepper plum tart. It’s my go-to recipe in the autumn...so simple and always delicious. The pepper adds an incredible kick that makes the sweetness of the honey work super nicely with the tartness of the plums. There’s a step-by-step in my stories, or you can follow the recipe here: Heat oven at 180 degrees. Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper and roll out the shortcrust pastry onto it. Cut 600g of plums into wedges and arrange them as you will on top of the pastry. Generously drizzle the plums with Rowse Organic honey, and sprinkle with black pepper. Bake for 20 minutes or until plums are caramelising. Once out of the oven, add a little more honey and enjoy! #ad #RowseHoney @rowsehoneyuk

Brunch in a shipping container is where it’s at. We visited @freight_belfast at the weekend - so good! Really fresh decor, super friendly staff and a delicious menu. I’m still dreaming about the French toast.

Romance these days looks like the Nana & Grandpa cavalry taking over caring for a sniffly, leaping baby while we head ‘out’ aka upstairs for coffee and treats. Or enjoying a podcast together on a nap drive. Or taking it in turns to plan date night at home - even if that just means sorting dinner or picking a movie. You do what you gotta do! What do you other parents of babies do to keep the love alive? I’d love to know!

I’m not big into Halloween but I can appreciate a good carved pumpkin 🎃 Have had to postpone tonight’s pumpkin risotto making however as Baby B is working through a pesky virus (I just wish I could take the hit for him!) that has made him miserable, so, in @disastersofathirtysomething style, that is most definitely my pit. Peak is watching him snooze in his daddy’s arms knowing I have a @taboo_donuts salted caramel doughnut waiting for me after I get through bedtime. 🙏 Pits, peaks and pumpkins.
